Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is clearly a water animal.

And look! Its fins have grown larger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

GentleCoin and StrongBoldHeart are both Two Finned Bluna hatchlings and best friends. They spend almost all of their time together, even sleeping side by side. But these boys are completely different in temperament. StrongBoldHeart is very brash and full of energy. GentleCoin is calm and thoughtful. While it seems unlikely that two so different hatchlings would be friends, it is clearly visible that they are best buddies. Even though the aren't related, they are very close in age. Everyone calls them 'The Twins' because they are almost always together.
