Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Miscellaneous Growing Stuff is a gardener. She grows whatever she can find in her garden, including weeds. It's not the prettiest garden, since it's overcrowded and unorganized, but she's proud of it. She is very protective of her garden, screeching loudly when another dragon so much as flies over it. She sleeps in her garden, in an attempt to keep it from harm.
