Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Josh was going to Guard the Huho clan when he grew up, but he managed to sneak into his owner's potion cupboard and drink a freezing potion, which caused him to never age. Despite knowing this, he still likes to practice guarding the eggs and dragons. After two attacks from the Nytefangs, he realized that the clan needs a better guard. He found a Guardian egg and brought it back to the clan, where the older dragons would raise it.
