Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The White Echo's mysterious and elegantly terrifying title has been its name for a thousand years. Treated as a form of spectre, it haunts the Northern Woods, particularly at dusk. It often walks through the ferns, sometimes as it would have done were it alive; an echo of the past, although when approached the pale creature gallops away with an eerie crying laugh. Legend says that the albino hatchling, living with its ancient family millenia ago, disobeyed its parents by journeying into the dark woods at night, where it was killed by a vampire dragon. Failing to find any suitable meal within the hatchling, the vampire dragon tossed aside the creature and it became a wandering spirit. Trapped on earth because of its needless death it roams the woods, laughing and giggling like a real hatchling. The Mint dragons in the Northern Woods don't seem to mind it as the White Echo's fearful tale keeps away enemies; even the otherworldly vampire dragons avoid the paths it has walked.
