Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, Haloevine of the Dark Green Dragons. This hatchling's story contains some rather inexplicable parts, beginning with the way the egg came to his later owner. It simply was there one morning, squatting in the middle of the vegetable patch. There were no footmarks or other traces. The old woman who owned the patch and the house adjacent to it knew immediately that this was a dragon's egg. It surprised her, though, with a soft glow coming off it by night. When the egg hatched, the hatchling gave off just the same soft greenish light and thus was given the name Haloevine. There is no real explanation why this hatchling glows at night, although many learned men came to watch her and form clever theories. There also is no explanation for the fact that she simply stopped growing one day, even before she reached the rim of the flowerpot the old woman kept her in.
