Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nalexis was the first to express his love to Neetrix who is the leader of the cave he lives in. Neetrix's heart is hard to obtain and after failing Nalexis was almost kicked out of the cave. Neetrix's rules are harsh and Nalexis has a hard time getting back to life as the other dragons in the cave hurt him because of his failure. Lately Nalexis doesn't get food until all the other dragons finish eating and is beaten by stronger dragons. Leaving Neetrix's cave would be a good idea for him but he knows that he won't be the first to fail and that he will find a way to show himself as a good dragon. He knows this moment will come.
