Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When you think of Christmas, you probably think of happiness, cheer, and love, but there is always the other side to it, greed, envy, and jealousy.  The Christmas Dragons are in essence, 'the Spirit of Christmas,' but Ahneus and Afgunst are slightly different from the typical ones, but still the 'Christmas Spirit,' just in a different sense.  No matter how hard one tries to forget or cover up that feeling of envy or greed, it's still there, and as long it is there, these two brothers will exist, reminding everyone of that.  They seemingly have a split personality, being helpful and giving encouragement; But once they have your trust, they begin bringing out those deep feelings of envy and greed, and turning them into hate.  Just as a normal, typical Christmas Dragon thrives off of the happiness and love from others, Ahneus and Afgunst thrive off of the negative feelings and emotions of others.  Ahneus is Finnish for Greed.
