Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. The red dragon peered gently over the shoulder of her caretaker as she watched her scrawl indecipherable lines of 'words' with a feather pen. The dragon watched her intently lean over her meaningless squiggles with great amusement. While she watched a small gnat landed upon her nostril. She attempted to swipe it off with one foreleg, and then the other to no avail. It seemed like this bug was absolutely determined to remain on her nose. In a moment of inspiration she knew what had to be done. She lifted her large, horned head and rammed it onto the far end of the desk. It broke apart with a large crack as the girl in the chair fell onto the cold floor.

The red dragon smiled with relief as a single thought crossed her mind: The gnat was gone.
