Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Gelo Freddo is a hard, almost cruel dragon. He had a fairly normal youth and was a kind and cheerful hatchling until an unfortunate winter storm. Gelo Freddo had been playing far from the cave with another young hatchling, a small female Guardian, when the pair was caught in a blizzard. The two of them were lost in the blowing snow and bitter cold for hours on end, wandering hopelessly through the deep drifts. Gelo Freddo, being a Winter dragon, had no trouble dealing with the cold. However, the little Guardian couldn't survive the storm. When the elders found him, he was keening pitifully over the frozen body of his friend.

From that day until he matured, Gelo Freddo ate little and spoke to no one. As soon as he was grown, he struck out on his own. He now lives out his days wandering the frozen mountain tops, shunning all other dragons and continuing to blame himself for the death of that small, unnamed Guardian.
