Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description

Such a famed hoard attracts the necessary dishonest interest, of course. To thwart the humans seeking his treasure, Foill has created an elaborate dungeon. Would-be thieves will have to find their way through a labyrinth, dodging flamethrowers, massive boulders, and sharp spikes hiding underneath loose floor tiles, picking complicated locks and solving bewildering puzzles while the room is being flooded, all the while being carefully studied by a curious Gold dragon monitoring how well they fare. At the end, though, is a richly decorated hall with a shining marble pedestal in the middle, on which rests their grand prize...

Where his actual treasure is, well, let's say that hiring craftsmen to build a dungeon as elaborate as this doesn't come cheap. Worth it, though.
