Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There are so many to love, and yet few dragons can't see that. Nat, as he likes to be called, can.

When he was a hatchling, Nat would hide in the shadows to watch the others play. It wasn't until a little silver crept his way behind Nat did he ever interact with another. Caught off guard, Nat did what any Shadow Walker would do, and started to fade from this plane. The little silver, Elder Connor, quickly apologized for scaring him. Like Nat, Connor didn't have any friends. When he saw how lonely Nat was, he was determined to become his friend. Nat didn't like the idea at first, but eventually accepted it as fate. From that moment on, Nat would never leave Connor's side. What started as friendship began to blossom into love, at least in Nat's eyes. Nat eventually told Connor, but he didn't feel the same. Nat didn't take it well, but was happy enough to be Connors friend. Nat continues to love Connor from the shadows, never losing hope that he can meet another he can love the same way.
