Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Giselku, Cawur, and Rinariv fled Magehaven Island as a group. They were so desperate to put the island behind them for good that they decided to invent a new past for themselves. Unfortunately, each came up with the idea independently and had no chance to consult with the other two before the first awkward meeting with a stranger. Giselku, easily bored, soon sabotaged Cawur's simple tale of a small, failing weyr with any detail she could remember from the more sensational stories she had heard. She hesitated briefly before mentioning zombie pirates—surely a step too far, even by her standards—but Rinariv and Cawur were being so depressingly mundane that she felt compelled to liven things up a little. Giselku's one regret was that the copper dragon who had started the whole conversation managed to flee just before she got to the really good part.
