It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An attack by a pack of rogue dragons separated him from his parents, and another pack of predatory beasts took him in after. Stranded in the middle of vast and empty plains, his attempts to hunt led him straight to a pride of lions, who through kind fate took him in. When in time he eventually sought out others like him, he met poor results; viewing the scarred and dumb beast as a monster, all he met ran from him--save one. A ringmaster was in need of a lion tamer, having just saved a very familiar pride of them from hunters. More than happy to lead his family through tricks for food, the dragon found far more than just that; he found patient teachers and loving friends, all of whom stirred an affection within him like he'd never felt before.

Still as quiet and gentle as ever, he's put his understanding of beasts to good work there for close to a century. While he enjoys the company of all his costars, he's particularly affectionate towards Trapizi, who he views as a sister.
