Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rootless is a dragon without a home—he runs around with his roots pulled up, cutting off all connections that he ever knew so that he could stay without any burdens or debts to pay. He's rootless—he never knew his lineage's dragons, no dragons can hold a claim to him, no mate or partner to snare down his steps with children.

He has no place to go, and simply wanders for a root, a leaf, a branch, a tree, something to hold him grounded, even if he doesn't want to be. He needs the roots, but resists it with all his might.

And he knows that he needs the roots. Without a sense of belonging, with nothing that reminds him of anything else, he's a mere whisper in the wind, no footprint to mark his past, nothing.

He just wants to run with his roots pulled up, even if that means he could be cut free of all the love that other dragons experience every day.

He drags his dead roots through the mud, with no place to go.
