Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bloovern is a strange dragon with a mysterious personality. Unlike most Vampire dragons, he is mostly active during the day and spends his moments of "awakeness" spying on the other dragons that he lives with. He will go into hiding when the dragon he is spying on turns their head in his direction. Bloovern has a love for scaring others also and so he pounces on the others a lot. He does leave the tiny Pygmy dragons and the hatchlings alone most the time for he has a fear of hurting or killing them on accident. The older dragons know his tricks so they're not scared as easily, although some of them will be nice to him and pretend that he scared them. But the newer dragons have to watch out because Bloovern can and will strike at any given moment.

Bloovern is also not a fan of drinking blood but he will if necessary. He also likes to eat (not suck the color out of) red vegetables, fruits, foods, and insects. His favorite dragon to hang out with is Terque.
