Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shy Lover was a particularly shy dragon, not even being able to stand up for herself. One day, a few days after her hatching, she met a very handsome hatchling, and they were both instantly in love. She always daydreamed about him, until one day a group of humans came and invaded her peaceful home. Her love was captured, and the rest of the dragons drugged. Sluggishly, she managed to escape before the humans came again and finished them, and found refuge in a different cave, with a very different scent. Shy Lover eventually was discovered by a human, who took her in and cared for her and some other hatchlings until they were all grown up. As an adult, she met a strangely familiar handsome dragon. Little did she know, that the other strangely handsome dragon was the same one who she met when she was a hatchling.
