Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Starbaan is the older sister of Kiba. Her body is covered with scars from clan wars that she got when she was young. She has strong claws that will hold in a dangerous grip. When the sun comes up, she scouts for weak or dead wild dragons to eat. She dislikes humans and will warn them away from the clan's territory. Starbaan's name is supposed to mean "star", and that actual star is the sun since she's a sunrise dragon. She isn't really mean to her clan or other domesticated dragons, but she hates wild dragons. It seems that on the outside she is a cruel murderer, but that's not true.
