Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Not the brightest hatchling in the clutch, Upside Gown made up for his lack of wits with unending cheerfulness. Upside grew up being very energetic and sometimes absent-minded as he would look up to the sky.

One day, Upside decided to leave his cave in the snowy alpines to venture forth. Originally meant for a flying joyride, Upside came upon a large volcano where he swooped down and met a large female hellfire wyvern with the brightest of flames named Maldaeta.

The female wyvern swiftly asserted her dominance over him, placing a foot upon his back and pressing Upside down against the ground, asking why he has come to her territory. Upside just looked up and smiled at her, complimenting her scales. Maldaeta couldn't help but smirk at his naivety, and she took him into her cave. They became partners with one another, and they eventually had a hatchling named Downseide. Soon after, Upside was cast out.

It is thought that Upside would have been a great father to Downseide.
