Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. This fetching young Swallowtail, who would prefer to remain anonymous, has beautiful azure, gold, and crimson scales that shimmer under even the most indirect of light and captivate the hearts of young females across the territory. Swift of wing and sharp of mind, this dragon could have any female he wishes to, and all he would need to do is approach her.

Unfortunately, this dashing Swallowtail is not of the heterosexual persuasion.

Preferring to have the writer refer to him by a code-name, "gaysD", which apparently stands for "gay Swallowtail Dragon", this dragon is quite content with anonymity. If only his flamboyant scales were more drab, like a female of his species, then he could escape the coveting stares of those whose adoration he cannot reciprocate. As he is uncertain about the reaction were he to "come out of the cave", as the saying goes, his only hope in this regard is to take a mate and pretend, but thus far he refuses to do so, not wishing to break the poor girl's heart...
