Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, smaller in females, aiding both in digging up food and protection from attack. Females are noticeably brighter than males due to their habit of not straying far from particularly algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Crepe has never been an especially good mother. She famously neglects her hatchlings, leaving whatever male she's hooked onto to take care of them for her. As such, most of her children lead solitary lives or band with their siblings for protection, such as with Heron, Flamingo, and Pelican. But, Rosewood, sadly, is determined to earn her mother's affection no matter what, which has proved fruitless time and time again. She tries everything to please her, even turn against her father or siblings if it means making her happier. This has led them to dislike her quite a bit, especially the eldest sister, Heron, who finds her obsession shameful. These two in particular are rather fierce rivals, as Rosewood will often try to go after Flamingo (Crepe's "favorite.") Rosewood loves bullying the both of them and causing them trouble for the sake of their mother, although it really is just all annoying to her. Rosewood tries her best to claim some manner of self-esteem, desperate for affection.
