When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Detraho is one of those water dragons who prefer ocean and one of those who wreck ships. He isn't that shy, but he almost never is in shallow waters, so his dim silhouette, immersing and surfacing in the distance, can rarely be seen by people, and mostly only by fishermen. Sometimes he comes near to the coast rock, where herd stays for most of it's time and water is deeper. He then splashes other dragons and urges them to get into the water, so he can steep them—that's how he spends his time with others...

While he isn't in the deep ocean far away, Detraho doesn't trip along the rivers, which are big enough for him, but stays near a delta at the herd's home, where he catches much fish. At times he does a food trades with other dragons—to spice menu up.
