Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Akita was an outcast when she had hatched, from the moment all the other dragons saw a large tear in her iron like shield. It was unlikely that she could become a guardian dragon and protect others with a scarred shield like that. She was shunned and teased, even by her own siblings and parents. Before she had even grown wings, she left her home cave. Years later, her wings had grown, but the scar on her shield remained. One day, while flying through the air, she heard a cry for help. It was a Magi Dragon that had been caught in a human trap and was slowly suffocating. A human was abusing her, stabbing her bleeding side. Akita then let out a furious roar, and knocked the human beside, into a nearby river. She freed the Magi Dragon, who thanked her, and told her to wish for something; although it wouldn't happen again. Akita was quick to answer; to finally become a Guardian Dragon. The Magi Dragon nodded, and with unseen forces, Akita's scar patched itself back together.
