Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Prize dragons, those much-flattered pets of politicians and nobles, are usually looked upon by the locals with some degree of envy. This one, however, earns no such greedy glances. With a pedigree that's seen almost all of her original heritage lost, her scales hardly gleam, and her proportions are more suitable for a rugged wild dragon than a pampered pet. Yet she still carries herself with a certain degree of dignity, because even if her ancestry is filled with common breeds, they were noble beings all the same.
