Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Holly, was one of many eggs abandoned by their parents. Gratefully, she survived to an adult. Born very beautiful Holly always wanted eggs of her own. But since she first hatched Holly started to feel unwanted. After all, her parents abandoned and left her to die. This made it hard for her to make friends and meet possible mates. Of course that did not mean she was not liked. Many males tried desperately to woo her and females wanted her "unwanted" attention. It was not until Holly met Blood Prince that she looked at a male differently. He was one of the best warriors in her clan, yet he showed mercy toward his enemies. Though he still loved to fight and hunt he was kind and very handsome. Holly never got the nerve to talk to him until Blood Prince came to her asking for a date. Obviously the date was a success because Blood Prince and Holly are happily courted and have children of their own. Holly continues to watch eggs and hatchlings while taking care of her ever growing family.
