Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Foolhardy, daring, and stubborn, Ilian is always one to take up a challenge. He is short-tempered by nature but would rather die than hurt anyone he loves. As a young fighting dragon in the mountain he became good friends with a red named Lars. The two young dragons were as thick as thieves, and got into all sorts of mischief. As was fitting they both fell for the same beautiful white dragon, Neverwinter of Silver Vale.<br/>Ilian saw the challenge in her the moment they met, even if it was because he injured his wing in a fight. She did not give in to his advances, but he was not deterred, particularly because of Lars interest in her too, and Ilian did not want to loose his chance with her. The turning point in the competition came when Ilian defended her, rather than pressure her to make a choice. <br/>He possesses a quirk of wanting to be the hero, and because of that there is nothing that he would not do for Neverwinter. She tames his temper and daily gives him something worth fighting for.
