Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Possibly the shiest dragon ever to have been tamed, Flaky Torie has some serious issues with socializing. Not only does she absolutely refuse to come near any living being, but she also causes massive problems when she tries to hide behind an unfortunate tree which burns to a crisp when in contact with her magma body. She also refuses to eat at times because of her shyness, which worries the Caretakers very much. Scholars who have looked into her case have decided that her fear of living beings comes from the fact that she sheds more skin than any other dragon of her kind; they have concluded that she is simply embarrassed to death about her flaking body.
