Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Merasmus likes to make an entrance loudly and with much self-created fanfare, and he wears a long robe and a skull hat. His enchanted book calls him an idiot in a dress due to his odd behavior and clothing. He is fond of giving "Merasmissions", ill-defined tasks named after himself. Since Merasmus has a habit of borrowing things from more powerful dragons and gets in trouble a lot, he has to find help from his former cave-mate and involve the latter's team in silly schemes in order to pay those dragons back. Compared to other magically-inclined creatures, Merasmus isn't that impressive, but he likes to boast about his abilities anyway, announcing whenever he casts a spell, uses his book, or sends people on a Merasmission. When injured, he becomes quite good at hide-and-seek: he casts some illusion magic to make himself appear to be an innocuous prop, such as a table or crate, to blend in with the environment. While hiding, he heals himself with healing magic.
