Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One winter there was a sick, horrible dragon that rampaged through the hills killing eggs and hatchlings for their own enjoyment. They were infamously known as the 'Baby Killer' and mothers all over the country had been panicked to the point of going into hiding.

So after many years of peace and harmony under the ice, Animus stormed out from hiding and in his moment of pure fury, he killed this murderous, insane dragon. After he pacified, he had been pronounced as 'The Protector Of The Living'. He felt a small amount of guilt for killing someone, and others had been wary after hearing how viciously he had ended this dragon.

But in the end, everyone had to believe he did the right thing whenever they thought about the damage the Baby Killer had done.
