Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emerald Haze is an adventurer.  As a hatchling, this caused her much trouble.  When she was very young, she strayed to far from her nest, tumbling out into the open.  When a griffon snatched her, she new in her tiny heart her life was about to end.  She felt terror when the griffon landed, and a searing pain in her wing, accompanied by the sound of splintering bones.  She managed to escape with a huge tear in her broken wing.  She new she would never fly again.  But she refused to give up.  Traveling for days on end, she sought out a sea dragon, begging him to mentor her in swimming.  A year later, when she was found by Jade Envy, she could swim as well as any water dragon, and stay underwater for one hour without taking a breath.  She now has found her place as a member of the Search and Rescue Faction, the group of dragons that finds abandoned hatchlings, for she refuses to let any chick go through what she had to endure.  She spends her nights in the Black Draco Cave, among friends.
