And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Beyard is the half brother of Zukita, a young female pink dragon known for her troublesome antics. Unlike his sister, Beyard is a rather shy hatchling who would prefer to spend his time sleeping or just laying around rather than chasing bugs or getting into trouble. When the other hatchlings play games, he usually just sits and watches, or goes to hang around by his father, Munjak. Due to his tendency to wander off from the others, the adult dragons have to keep a careful eye on Beyard to make sure they know where he is.
