Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blackberry is a very fierce and powerful Black dragon, and very few mess with her, since she is rumored to know the most dangerous of all the spells. However, beneath the black hide and powerful magic, lies a sweet heart. Blackberry doesn't show her sweet nature to any unknown dragons—to them, she is very vicious and aggressive—but only to the Protectors. In their base, which is a deep and large cave with a small pool of crystal clear water and lichen on the walls, she sometimes helps Lime's Stone deal with the hatchlings. When night comes, Blackberry doesn't let Bracken Frosty guard the cave, and she takes the Aeons' spot. Then, her cream horns and cream belly can barely be seen while her head is turned and her eyes—fixed on the horizon.
