Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A fierce defender of the colony, Triell can't stand the idea of an intruder trespassing on the colony's territory. As one of the two leaders, he thinks of the colony's future as his responsibility and does all in his power to sustain and protect it. Triell, when he's not hunting or patrolling the area, is often flying around at night. He claims that these are merely enjoying the natural splendor on a relaxing, moonlit flight, but it's easy to see that he is, in fact, honing his skills for a battle that may never come. Triell relies more on his physical strength than magic abilities, finding that slashing with his claws comes more naturally than casting spells. Getting him to settle down and take a break is difficult, as Triell feels like there's always something that needs to be done, and more importantly, needs to be done by him.
