Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sentromii used to be a supportive, cheerful frozen hatchling from a neighboring dragon clan. Until hostile Native Americans discovered how strong a dragon's scales can be. They came with enough braves to wipe out three towns, and they killed many of her clan. Sentromii was unable to do anything and could only float as far up as possible and helplessly watch the massacre. Sentromii, fortunately, was found and saved by a dragon from the clan she's in now; but too late for her family and friends. For years afterward, she was haunted with horrendous nightmares of that scene. After all those years, she found she could avoid her memory's wrath by bestowing nightmares on her new clanmates. But all the years of the nightmares turned her fur and eyes red, and replaced her sweet nature with a rotten temper, and now no dragon likes to be with her. Except Jerazzi, a frozen cheese hatchling, who sees her as a pure soul tainted by the sight of war.
