Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Princess Cong is, undeniably, the voice of reason of the court. She could hardly have helped it. As a daughter of a lineage of shimmerscales known for their reasoning abilities, and for their pride too unfortunately, this should come as no surprise. Though the unbearable pride of her ancestors has been reduced somewhat in her, it isn't gone entirely. It does cause the court some amount of grief at times, and as for mates she isn't easy to impress. That said, she IS aware of the shame her family's pride has brought upon them and does strive to fight what she sees as a flaw in her character and a failing of logic. A dragon ought not to think of themselves too highly. Despite her pride, she has a good heart and other virtues, too; such as her ability to see through just about any faulty argument and to hold forth her reasons for her decisions clearly or point out something the others have missed. It isn't for nothing that she is considered to be one of the greatest members of the court.
