Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elmyra was adopted as an egg from the Alpine region by Queen Katherine Nightingale of LGBT and Ivy, a woman of great magical power and stunning blonde hair. Once Elmyra hatched, she became the pride of the Queen's life. So much so that the two went on many bonding trips to far off lands together, seeing the beauty in everything they experienced. When Elmyra reached adulthood, she realized that she was not happy in the gender she was born in and asked the Queen to use her powers to change her gender to that of a male. Katherine, being the LGBT-friendly and all-accepting kind, granted her daughter's wish and transformed her into a handsome son. Elmyra kept her birth-given name, and now lives his life flirting with attractive female dragons and occasionally traveling to the gay taverns with his mother.
