Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Belmot's character does not match his small and frail body at all. Calculating, dangerous and unpredictable—those words describe Belmot best. Cunning as Belmot is, he voluntarily cast a spell on himself, giving him eternal youth in a hatchling's body, hiding both his malice and grief behind a seemingly harmless face. His past is hidden underneath a thick layer of fog; nobody knows anything about him. There is a rumour that his personality has been greatly influenced by a personal tragedy that has been hushed up, but the reasons are unknown.

What Belmot's plans for the future are are still a mystery; however, one thing is for sure: He is up to something, in order to get revenge, or maybe, redemption. Who knows.

The origin of the name Belmot has given himself is the word "vermouth". Vermouth can be both bitter and sweet, can both heal and kill...but the choice has not been made yet.
