Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Paper Joe is a young Paper Dragon. Like his friend, Soarin' Skies, he spends a lot of time at the local library in Drakeville, where he works as a librarian. Reading is a passion of his, and he spends a lot of time around books. He teaches the hatchlings how to read in his clan, along with Izar and Sapphiro. He also is an expert at origami and loves folding little paper cranes and dragons out of spare parchment scraps. He is rarely seen in his clan's cave, and is often at his owner's cottage, writing poetry and reading. Even though he's mostly solitary, he is a kind dragon, and seems to never get mad. Since he isn't around most of the other dragons very much, he acts quite civilized and well-mannered. He often gets into debates over whether numbers or letters are more important with his mate, Trillionth the mathematician Paper dragon. His teenage son, Scraps, is often dragged into the debates, even though he couldn't care less about either side.
