Carmine Wyverns are active predators found most commonly in tropical regions. They have a poor sense of smell and are primarily dependent on sight and sound to hunt. These dragons are lightweight and quick, and tend to flee from rivals rather than attempt to fight. When a confrontation does occur it usually involves large amounts of posturing and displaying to make the wyverns appear larger and stronger than their opponents, and one will often surrender and leave without a fight ever actually occurring. They are dedicated parents and usually mate for life, though the degree of loyalty to a partner varies between individuals and within individual pairings.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

For most of his life, Razak was a model for his breed: somewhat aloof, hunting when he was hungry and avoiding confrontations whenever he could. He got by, and for a while that was enough. He hadn't bothered to claim a name in his weyr because he did not truly feel a part of it and thus felt no need to distinguish himself. Then he met his Arsani weyrmate Clair. Through his interactions with Clair, Razak began to desire something that to him had previously only been a vague idea: family. No longer was he content simply to exist, to survive. This weyr had been the place he took shelter, it was the place of his hatching and where he was raised. But it was not home, it had never been home, because Razak had always held himself apart. It was time to come home. His decision made, he chose his name carefully, Razak to reflect his new-found devotion and Schiatta for the very essence of family. Razak is a father now and devotes days to the weyr nursery and the upbringing of the weyr young.
