Turpentine Dragons are named for the oil that covers their scales. This oil resembles turpentine in odor and is mildly toxic; it will not kill but it burns to the touch and will cause illness in anyone who ingests it. Turpentine Dragons roam in large packs, often stealing food from larger dragons, though they are able to hunt for themselves if necessary. Many other breeds consider Turpentine Dragons to be pests, so they primarily breed among themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Xin is a son of Hanuke and Kuroi-Yimei. His name means "New" in Chinese. His parents knew he'd require special care, but they weren't intimidated. They were never really able to hold Xin, but they showered him with lots of love. He's really close to his dad, who also faces the reality of being different. Once, when he was young, Xin got in a terrible argument because his father had been made fun of. Xin jumped at the two hatchlings, but Hanuke snatched him out of the air, getting burned by Xin's oil in the process. Xin was so ashamed, and was crying as he told his dad what happened. His dad looked at him, and despite the oil, hugged his son. Xin knew, his dad was telling him that he had to be bigger than the taunts of others. Xin has grown into a fine and peaceful dragon, and has truly made his parents proud. He's best friends with Xiaoli, Xiaobo, and Junjie. He is mated to Ling, the love of his life. They met in the woods one day, and have been inseparable ever since.
