Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Glows in the Darkness was always known for her beauty, even among her fellow Lumina dragons. With her fragile build, her perfectly formed wings and brightly glowing scales, she was always surrounded by admirers. Her life would have been perfect, had it not been for a clan of Royal Crimsons and their Red mates looking for a new territory. In the resulting fight, Glows in the Darkness got caught in a fire and almost died from the injuries she sustained. But she survived, and with time her scales grew back even more beautiful than before. When it became clear, though, that her wings were damaged beyond repair, she hid herself away in shame and refused to see anyone. Her family kept her condition secret and after a long search, they found a Magi dragon, who was able to cast a powerful spell. Glows in the Darkness' wings seem whole after this, but she can still feel the torn skin and whenever she looks at her reflection, her true appearance is revealed.
