Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emptive was forced out of his egg early by an earthquake. It was a very traumatizing experience. He was taking his time, sleeping in the eggshell, when great vibrations came from everywhere at once and shattered his fragile nest. He was scared and disoriented, and tried to run away on his new legs, but was caught and gently soothed. Another green dragon, Avenativa, and his stone mate, Triticaestuvum, took him under their wings, as they had not yet had any hatchlings of their own. Emptive still depends on them for support even though he is full-grown. He was very shy as a hatchling and did not make many friends, and he is subdued and quiet to this day. He is creative and loves thinking up stories, but for the most part keeps them to himself.
