Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two tails!

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Chisana tsubame loves to fly with the birds. He has learned a lot about flying by watching them. He has come up with quite a few flying tricks and loves to show them to other dragons and some times even people. He likes to fly near human villages and watch them. He has not yet encountered a mean human, but when he does he probably will not want to hang around them any more.

His name means little swallow.
