Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kandrar slips through the shadows, leaving only a candy-like trail of crisp, sweet warmth in his wake. Despite being the smallest in his cave, he has a great power to bring good cheer and holiday spirit to all those he touches, in heart and in soul. Although he may seem to be the sort of naive type, he is far from it, and rarely leaves the shadows he lurks in, for fear of the true darkness of evil that struggles in every living soul he might meet. He may be terribly timid, and as shy as and delicate as a mouse, but to those who he dwells with, and knows he can trust, he is the sweetest creature that they could ever know. A good listener, he is always willing to listen to their sorrows and try to cheer them up, although his greatest flaw is the overwhelming fear he has of the outside world and his inability to trust easily.
