Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

DarkRoyalBlueRose is a Royal Blue Dragon hatchling who loves flowers. Her mother RoyalBlueRose grows magical night blooming lilies that glow. The two like to watch them open right after they wake up in the evening. DarkRoyalBlueRose likes to frolic among the lighted blossoms. She'd like to pick herself a bouquet, but they don't glow for long after they die. So she usually is content to just be surrounded by the pretty lily plants.
