Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dune Strider has been running since she has known how to move her legs. From the time she was just a hatchling to now. Her legs have gotten her in and out of most trouble. When she was finally maturing, she was cornered by other whiptails, much larger than herself. This is how she met the guardian dragon "Roman General." If he was not watching the area for possible food, and to protect others, she might have not lived. She has stayed mostly loyal to him alone. Although she is not very fertile herself, she has one child (adopted), whiptail dragon "Lucky Sands."
