Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Abandoned as an egg, Denzella was taken in by an owner she can't even remember the name of. This kindly stranger raised her as a hatchling, but once again she was soon left to face the daunting cave alone. Without a hope in the world to be reunited with her true parents, Denzella was, at last, taken in by OhItsACrepe when she had but a few days to mature- or die. However, this young dragon's life had hit a real turning point. She was cared for by FireInDisguise- an older dragon who had no contact with his blood family, but protects Denzella as if she were his own. She's the real little sweetheart of the scroll; everyone loves and cares for her- and to think: she started off her little life as an egg nobody wanted.
