Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
He patrols his territory rarely, knowing the danger of showing his faintly golden hide for too long. He has always been hunted—not for his council or companionship, but to be beaten down and clapped in saddles and bits for humans to ride, wrenching his head and forcing him to fly without a will. His fate terrifies him more than anything, yet he has a duty to his mountains, and the others of his kind. He must keep them safe, no matter the cost.
Too many times he has found himself being confronted, even while on the wing. He has long since learned never to soar underneath arches of stone; humans perched upon them like little starving falcons, waiting for their golden meal to flutter by. The shock of it always dragged him to the ground, dashing him senseless while the creatures of the land fled, calling alarms to his drakes.
He'd made it this far, but he knew that with every passing day, he was closer to his inevitable, heart-breaking fate. He wished for his old age to creep up on him.
