It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

At first glance, Windy thought that this hatchling was dead. Upon taking a closer look, though, she could see him, opening his eyes and slowly turning his head in her direction. As she stepped closer, he remained motionless, never taking his attention off her. He appeared to be harmless and innocent, but the moment she turned away, he jumped to its feet, and belying its fragile appearance, he lunged after her. Fortunately, he was rather slow and she could get away from him easily. The last thing she heard before his voice faded into the distance was "I SEE YOU MONKEY!"
