Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Zest does her best to live up to her name, putting her entire being and effort into every second. She believes that any moment not lived to its fullest potential is a wasted moment, and she refuses to allow herself the luxury of wasting any of her available time. As an end result she tends to stay up extremely late and fall asleep in exhaustion, as she also considers sleep a waste of her precious moments.
