Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There's many rumors about how Wondersong ended up in Art's clan. Some say that he was brought by a hooded figure when he was just a tiny hatchling; some say that he fell from the sky, but what the clan can agree on is that, in case of trouble, Wondersong will solve any conflict.

He may be younger than the other Shimmer-scales out there, but he is considered the wisest dragon in the whole clan by many and is seen as a leader. He neither claimed this title nor rejected it, as he knows the dragons need someone to look up to, and he's proud to be the one.

Wondersong got his name from the beautiful stories he sings to the hatchlings at night: stories of mighty dragons fighting evil in far away lands, stories of small pygmies that made a difference in the world, and even stories of two-headed dragons that finally agreed on something! No one knows where he finds these stories.

During the day, he teaches the younger dragons how to swim and takes them to explore underwater ruins and caves.
